Dear Mr. Born:
In June 2005, my family engaged your company's services to produce a monument for my father, [name confidential]. This monument was to be completed in time for the dedication of his gravesite in October 2005. As of this date, March 26, 2006, we have not received this monument. I am, therefore, writing to inform you that on or before April 21, 2006, I expect to be in receipt of the finished monument or a refund of the deposit, which you received at the time the work, was commissioned. If I do not receive either the completed monument or a full refund of the deposit, please be advised that I will
* Report your company to the Better Business Bureau
* Engage the services of an attorney
* Write a letter of complaint to the Pioneer Press, detailing not only your unethical business practices but also the manner in which you have treated a grieving immigrant family
Mr. Doe, you appear not to understand that what you do is a job of great sensitivity. In our situation, I have seen none of that on your part. I should not have to tell you the impact you have on people's lives, and moral issues involving this kind of profession. I feel insulted and deeply hurt by the blunt disregard you have shown my family and me. I do not claim to understand why you have blown off this project, but I can say that taking advantage of immigrants is discriminatory, and I will not stand for it. My mother came to you to do a job, which you have clearly not done. She was vulnerable and you took advantage of that. Therefore, if you fail to either deliver the completed monument or refund the deposit you leave me no choice but to take proper action against your business establishment.
Sincerely,
Name confidential
